Nunes, McCarthy secure Presidential Major Disaster Declaration for Tulare County

Yesterday, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) added Tulare County to its August 22, 2020 Presidential Major Disaster Declaration. To get this crucial declaration issued, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and I sent a letter to the Trump administration urging aid for Tulare County in response to the devastation wrought by the SQF Complex Fire. Tulare County residents will now have access to FEMA disaster relief programs and U.S. Small Business Administration disaster recovery programs.

My visit to the National Air and Space Intelligence Center

This morning, Rep. Michael Turner and I visited the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) headquarters at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, just east of Dayton, Ohio. As members of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Turner and I met with NASIC senior leaders to ensure they have the resources needed to assess key military intelligence on foreign air and space forces, weapons, and systems. I want to thank the men and women of NASIC for hosting us and extend my gratitude for their service and the sacrifices they make to keep our nation safe.

I want to share with you this article in The San Joaquin Valley Sun outlining President Trump’s historic efforts to restore to the Central Valley its rightful supply of water. WATER WARS: President Trump delivers on crucial water infrastructure projects

On Tuesday, the Trump administration announced the completion of all actions directed by President Trump’s 2018 Presidential Memorandum on Promoting the Reliable Supply and Delivery of Water in the West. Under President Trump’s leadership, environmental reviews slowing improvements to crucial water infrastructure projects, such as the Central Valley Project and California State Water Project, have finally been completed. Additionally, the Trump administration convened water experts to develop advanced technologies that will improve the Central Valley’s water supplies.

I applaud President Trump for working to help end the destructive regulations imposed on the Central Valley by radical environmentalists and deliver to Central Valley families and farmers the water they rightfully deserve.
